Cilantro / Coriander Coriandrum sativum (Annual)
Height 60cm. From salads to curries both leaves (called cilantro) and seeds (called coriander) are used with this versatile herb.
Garden Planting:
Basil likes well drained soil and a sunny position.
Pot Planting:
Difficult to grow in pots unless leaves are picked continuosly as it is a short lived annual. A must is good drainage.
Harvest Time:
Pick young leaves at any time. from the top to encourage strong new growth. Pick often to prevent flowering which makes basil bitter. If you want seeds for cooking or re sowing, wait a couple of weeks after flowering and you will notice brown seeds. All you need to do is shake into a bowl. Keep In a sealed container for use in cooking.

Coriander is good for the digestive system and relieves flatulence.
