Garlic Chives Allium tuberosum (Perennial)
Height 40cm Sweet Garlic flaour when leaves are young. Cooking companion to eggs, cheeses, meat and potatoes.
Garden Planting:
Use as an attractive border 15 cm apart. Remove flower stems to increase leaf production if you use chives regularly. Chives can die down in cold winters.
Pot Planting:
Chives grow well in pots in a sheltered position.
Harvest Time:
Cut fresh as required leaving 3cm from base.
Handy Herb:
Added fresh to food will stimulate the appetite and digestion.
