Lettuce Salad Bowl (red & green) - lactuca sativa (Annual)
Loose leaf lettuce, the easiest to grow, fast maturing and long harvest.
Garden Planting:
Grow in part shade and plant close together to keep soil temperature down. Water soil around bases of plants, daily in summer as overhead watering induces mildew. Keep the snail bait up as snail love lettuce! Space 15cm apart.
Pot Planting:
Loose leaf varieties love pots. Keep at the back door for fresh salad leaves as required.
Harvest Time:
Harvest as leaf ‘cut and come again’ as required, harvesting the leaves from the outside
