Spearmint menthe spicata (perennial)
Height 50cm. Also known as common mint as it is the most widely grown and used.
Garden Planting:
Will grow in sun or shade in well drained soil. Mint grows on runners, not recommended for planting in ground unless contained within a pot buried in the ground. Cut to half the size when becomes leggy.
Pot Planting:
Gardeners prefer pots! Place in part shade.
Harvest Time:
Pick leaves fresh as required.
Handy Herb:
Deters aphids in the garden.
